"There is nothing wrong with making duaa for ‘worldly’ things as long as they are halal. The problem is when we confuse the tool (everything created) and the goal (Allah). Even when we get or use ‘worldly’ things, their ultimate intended purpose is to aid us in our journey to our End: Allah. Instead we use Allah to aid us in our journey to worldly things."
